PMO Manager - Data migration

We partner with Tesco Bank to support their contingent recruitment processes. Acting as an extension of their recruitment teams, we connect them with skilled interim and temporary professionals, fostering workplaces where everyone can contribute and succeed.

On behalf of Tesco Bank, AMS are now looking for a PMO Manager based in Edinburgh (Hybrid) for a 6 month contract.

Purpose of the role:

The PMO Manager will play a vital part in overseeing the governance, planning and delivery within an important data workstream.

Key responsibilities of the PMO Manager:

• Setting up and managing governance processes for the data migration workstream, ensuring structure and control throughout delivery.
• Leading quarterly planning cycles, monitoring progress, managing dependencies and contention and ensuring milestones are met.
• Oversight of the setup, population and coordination of the data migration to the new platform.
• Closely working with senior stakeholders across business and technology teams, providing clear updates and managing expectations to ensure data migration aligns with strategic and operational needs.
• Driving planning and execution using primarily Waterfall, while adapting to Agile where needed.

Key requirements of the role include:

• Proven experience operating as a Lead or Senior PMO, with the confidence to drive workstream performance and work alongside senior stakeholders.
• Ability to demonstrate the ability to manage and support delivery with a strong focus on milestones, tracking, resource planning and governance.
• Deep understanding of programme governance tools and techniques, including RAID log management and dependency tracking.
• Strong interest in data-led transformation initiatives, with the ability to support strategic platform transitions and migration activities.
• To be familiar with both Waterfall and Agile delivery approaches, with the ability to adapt and apply the most effective methodology based on programme needs.
• Possess a clear focus on execution and outcomes, with a proactive approach to identifying risks, resolving issues, and ensuring timely delivery.

Desirable experience includes:

• PMO leadership experience within large-scale programmes (desirable).
• A background in financial services or similarly regulated industries (desirable).
• Experience within data migration programmes (desirable).
