PMLD Teaching assistant

Role Overview

Axcis is looking for a compassionate, caring and clear headed individual to work in a PMLD special school in Birmingham. This is a full time position for the remainder of the current academic year. The role is for an unqualified teaching assistant to support a specific child or children on a 1:1 or small group basis across a range of subjects. Personal/in timate care may be required as some pupils have medical needs. Salary and pay rate will be dependent on your skills and experience.

Responsibilities

• Support individual pupil(s) on a 1:1 or small group basis.
• Assist in a range of subject areas.
• Provide personal and/or intimate care as required.
• Support pupils with medical needs.

Qualifications

• Skills/experience working with individuals with Profound and Moderate Learning Difficulties (PMLD) and/or medical needs.
• Previous experience in a care background is desirable.
• Unqualified but with a strong caring attitude and empathy.
• Suitable for the advertised position and prepared to attend a face to face interview.
