PMLD Teacher (Maternity Cover) - Nuneaton

About the role

Justteachers is currently recruiting a compassionate and experienced PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties) Teacher for a full-time maternity cover role at a specialist SEN school located just outside of Nuneaton.

This welcoming and well resourced school supports children and young people with complex needs, including profound learning difficulties, physical disabilities, sensory impairments, and significant medical conditions. The school provides a nurturing, person centred environment where every pupil receives tailored support to develop communication, independence, and life skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver highly differentiated, multi sensory lessons that meet individual EHCP targets.
• Work closely with teaching assistants, therapists, and medical staff to support pupils' complex needs.
• Create a safe, engaging, and inclusive classroom environment that supports learning and well being.
• Use a range of communication methods including PECS or Makaton.
• Monitor and assess pupil progress, adapting strategies to meet changing needs.

Pre requisites

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Experience teaching pupils with PMLD or in a complex needs/SEN setting is highly desirable.
• A creative, flexible, and patient approach to meeting pupils' wide ranging needs.
• Ability to lead a team of support staff effectively.
• Two recent education based references.
