Purpose of the Job

My mother is looking for a 2:1 support for a 14 year old boy with autism, in the Ynysybwl/Pontypridd area. The role involves ensuring safety and well being during community outings and other activities.

Hours of Work

4 hours per week after school and weekends, with rates of £14.00 per hour plus mileage.

Tasks

• Personal care.
• Social outings.
• Any other reasonable task.
• Ensuring safety and well being at all times.
• Encouraging and praising to build confidence.
• Supervising behavior during outings.
• Building a relationship and trust.
• Helping develop healthy boundaries with others.

Required Qualities

• Male or female.
• Strong and able to remove child from anxiety inducing situations.
• Reliable and punctual.
• Considerate, caring and trustworthy.
• Friendly.
• Confident and proactive.
• Car driver with access to a car to transport the child.

About the Job

This is a part time position that requires a National Insurance number. A trial period will be necessary in the first instance. The wage is paid monthly and holiday pay will be granted in accordance with UK standards. References and a DBS (Police) check are required prior to commencement. The cost of the DBS check will be met by the employer (Local Authority). This role may be included in the Find a Job Service from the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP).
