Platform Technical Lead

We are seeking aPlatform Technical Leadto spearhead the architecture, implementation, and evolution of amodern data platformfor a leadingspecialty insurance firmin London. This role requires astrong technical backgroundinintegration and data architectures, as well asleadership experiencemanaging both technical teams and client relationships.

You will be responsible for thedesign, governance, automation, and operationof theenterprise data platform, ensuring its capabilities align with business needs. The platform is built onAzure, Snowflake, Data Lakes, and Kafka, requiring expertise acrosssecurity, data governance, integrations, observability, DevOps, and automation.

This is aLondon-based role,as regular on-site client engagement is required. The position will behired by Marionete, a leader in delivering cutting-edge data and technology solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect and leadthe design of an enterprise-grade data platform, ensuringscalability, security, and performance.
• Providetechnical leadershipacrossdata integration, data modeling, security, governance, and automation, covering all layers of a data platform (ingestion, storage, processing, and consumption).
• Drive the implementation ofmodern platform architecturessuch asLakehouse, Kappa, and Lambda, ensuring alignment with industry best practices.
• Overseeend-to-end platform capabilities, includingsecurity, monitoring, observability, automation, and governance.
• ImplementDevOps and automation practices, ensuring a highly available, resilient, and self-service platform for data engineers and consumers.
• Ensure seamlessdata ingestion and processing pipelines, leveragingKafka, Fivetran, Snowflake, and Data Lakes.
• Define and enforce best practices forData Governance, security, access control, and observability.
• EstablishCI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) practicesfor the data platform.
• Lead thetechnical direction and implementation of data products, ensuring they are efficiently delivered and aligned with business objectives.
• Collaborate withcross-functional teams, includingdata engineers, DevOps engineers, architects, and governance teams, to enhance the platform's capabilities.
• Establish and driveSoftware Development Lifecycle (SDLC) best practiceswithin the data platform environment.
• Work closely withstakeholdersto define and execute a roadmap that balancesbusiness needs, compliance requirements, and technical innovation.
• Act as atrusted advisorto senior leadership and business teams, translating technical capabilities into business value.
• Lead and mentorlarge-scale technical teams, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Key Skills & Experience

• Proven experienceas aPlatform Technical Lead, Data Architect, or similar role, leading enterprise data platforms at scale.
• Strong technical expertise inAzure, AWS, Snowflake, Databricks, Data Lakes, and Kafka.
• Deep understanding ofmodern data platform architectures, includingLakehouse, Kappa, and Lambda.
• Experience designing and managingsecure, scalable, and governed data platforms.
• Strong knowledge ofData Governance frameworks, access control, and compliance in enterprise environments.
• Experience withend-to-end data integration patternsand enterprise-gradedata modeling.
• Knowledge ofData Fabric and Data Mesh concepts, with practical experience in their implementation.
• Strong understanding ofSoftware Development Lifecycle (SDLC) principlesin a data platform context.
• Expertise inobservability, monitoring, and securityfor data platforms.
• Strong experience inDevOps, automation, CI/CD, and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC).
• Proven track record ofleading large technical teamsand driving complexdata platform initiatives.
• Excellentstakeholder management skills, with the ability totranslate technical solutions into business value.
