Platform Engineering Manager - Manchester (Hybrid) - Salary: £90,000 + Bonus The Company:

Lorien are working with a Manchester based tech business that's investing heavily in its platform capabilities. With a focus on innovation and scalability, they're building out a high performing engineering function to support a 24/7 live environment. As part of this growth, they're looking for an experienced Platform Engineering Manager to lead a key area of the team.

The Role:

This is a leadership role that blends technical oversight, strategic input, and team management. You'll be responsible for maintaining and enhancing a hybrid cloud and on premise infrastructure that underpins a revenue generating platform. Working alongside the Head of Platform, you'll guide a subset of the engineering team, providing mentorship, technical direction, and support across critical projects. You'll remain hands on where needed, ensuring that platform stability, performance, and security are prioritised in every decision.

The Skill Requirements:

• Proven track record leading platform teams in high availability environments
• Strong understanding of hybrid platforms (VMware + AWS is ideal, but OK with Azure/GCP)
• Experience with CI/CD tooling and pipelines (Jenkins ideal)
• Familiarity with infrastructure as code tools (Terraform, Ansible)
• Hands on experience with containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes, Helm)
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
