Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Staff Nurse-Outpatients

We have an exciting opportunity for a Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Staff Nurse (Band 5) to join our Outpatients department at The London Clinic in Central London (W1G 7JL). The London Clinic is one of the UK's largest private hospitals, established in 1932, with state of the art facilities located around Harley Street. We employ approximately 1,300 staff across eight sites, providing a wide range of specialist care including complex surgical procedures and outpatient services.
Job Profile- Job Type: Full time, permanent.
- Shift Pattern: 37.5 hours per week, Monday Saturday.
- Salary: Band 5 equivalent.

- Deliver safe, effective nursing care in liaison with the Plastics CNS, Plastics Outpatients Sister, healthcare assistants and consultants.
- Plan, implement and evaluate individualized patient care in line with evidence based practices.
- Perform high standard postoperative wound care according to current guidance.
- Assist with minor procedures using precise ANTT skills.
- Use professional judgement when assessing patient needs, investigations and interventions.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including secretarial and administrative staff, to maintain high standards of care.
- Perform daily safety checks and complete cleaning schedules.
- Maintain accurate, comprehensive nursing records and charge using appropriate IT healthcare systems.
- Respond to emergency calls within the department.
- Escalate concerns regarding patient condition promptly.
- Develop to take charge of the department in the absence of the person holding continuing responsibility, based on level of nursing experience and training.
- Level 1 RN with revalidation in place.
- NMC registered.
- Proven experience in wound management.
- Post registration experience working in plastics or reconstructive surgery.
- Evidence of autonomous clinical experience.
Required: Level 1 RN, revalidation, NMC registration and relevant clinical experience as listed above.
ExperienceRelevant post registration experience in plastic and reconstructive surgery or a related speciality.
