Job Description

Salary: £33,700 per annum plus Veolia benefits. Hours: 42.5 hours per week. Location: Coldharbour Lane, Rainham, Essex RM13 9YB.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise the daily operations of the Road Sweeping Plant to produce high quality recycled products through effective decision making and task delegation.
  • Ensure shift personnel perform duties efficiently and safely in compliance with company RAMS, safe systems of work, and local operating procedures.
  • Oversee the coordination of machinery and equipment cleaning programmes and conduct essential machinery and plant checks.
  • Manage waste and product flows and associated traffic management systems.
  • Liaise with all operational departments to organise safe collection inputs and coordinate acceptance and processing of loads.
  • Coordinate the collection and delivery of end products from the Road Sweeping Plant.
  • Identify and requisition parts needed for plant maintenance and operations.
  • Prepare and submit monthly tonnage reports.
Qualifications
  • Previous supervisory experience in a similar operational environment, with the ability to work collaboratively with other teams to maximise throughput and output.
  • Self motivated with strong relationship building skills and the ability to perform effectively in highly pressurised environments.
  • IOSH Managing Safely certification or equivalent qualification required.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of current Health & Safety legislation and safe working systems.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills with proven ability to coach and motivate team members.
  • IT literate with proficiency in Microsoft packages and SCADA systems.
  • Experience in washing/aggregate recovery operations and mobile plant operation.
  • Loading Shovel and Tele handler licences desirable but not essential.
  • Full UK driving licence essential.
