Hours: Full Time, 07:30am - 4:30pm, Monday to Friday
Location: Redditch

A fantastic permanent opportunity has become available for a Plant Controller to join a well-established and respected business based in Redditch. This is a key role in ensuring the smooth supply of plant, machinery, tools, and materials across multiple construction sites, enabling projects to be delivered efficiently and effectively. We're looking for someone highly organised, confident in liaising with suppliers, and able to balance competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. Attention to detail and a proactive approach are essential to keep everything running seamlessly.
The role involves coordinating plant and machinery requirements, scheduling fuel and equipment deliveries, managing hire desk processes, and overseeing the distribution of key items across sites. There will also be an administrative element, supporting the wider plant function to maintain strong operational performance. This is a great opportunity for someone who thrives on organisation, problem-solving, and teamwork within a dynamic and growing business.
Duties include:
- Coordinating and overseeing plant requirements across regional sites, working closely with site and contracts managers to support productivity.
- Preparing and arranging weekly fuel (gas oil and diesel) for plant and machinery, ensuring best service levels and cost-effectiveness.
- Liaising with fuel suppliers to negotiate competitive rates and maintain reliable supply chains.
- Managing the distribution of miscellaneous items and equipment to sites, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
- Overseeing site mixer requirements through the hire desk and ensuring business processes are followed.
- Carrying out general administration to support the plant department, including record-keeping and communication tasks.
- Working as part of a collaborative team to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
Skills and experience required:
- Proven experience in coordinating plant, equipment, or logistics within construction, engineering, or a related industry.
- Strong organisational and multitasking skills, able to work to deadlines and manage multiple requirements.
- Confident communicator with the ability to build positive working relationships with colleagues, managers, and suppliers.
- Good attention to detail and accuracy across administrative and operational tasks.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
- A proactive and solutions-focused mindset, with the ability to work independently and as part of a wider team.
