Planner

Overview

Our client, a leading engineering and construction business, is seeking an experienced Freelance Planner to join their team and contribute to a high-profile project based in Oxford. This project will play a key role in their ongoing portfolio, and they are looking for a skilled planner to support the team for a 6-month contract.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 or MS Project.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and key stakeholders to define project milestones and align the schedule with project goals.
• Monitor project progress, providing regular updates to the management team, highlighting any potential delays or issues.
• Identify any risks to the project timeline and work with the team to develop strategies for mitigation.
• Adjust the schedule in response to changes in scope, resources, or unforeseen delays.
• Ensure that the project schedule is realistic, achievable, and reflective of resource availability.
• Provide guidance on resource allocation and critical path activities.

Required Skills & Experience

• Proven experience as a Planner within the engineering and construction industry.
• Strong working knowledge of planning software, ideally Primavera P6 or MS Project.
• Solid understanding of construction project delivery, including scheduling, resource management, and risk management.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with various teams.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Rates are dependant on experience.
