We have an opportunity for a Planner with relevant industry experience to join us in Soho, London. The recruiting team services a wide range of projects and clients focussed mainly towards large scale, residential-led developments in London.
You will be working alongside a tight-knit and ambitious team of experienced planning professionals assisting on all aspects of the planning process from site promotion to planning appeals.
You will be a point of contact for project teams, local planning authority officers and other stakeholders, playing a role in client/project meetings and responsible for driving projects forward to help our clients achieve their development related objectives. You will also be the face of Quod, representing the business and our clients at public meetings and other events.
What are you going to do
Key role responsibilities
Supporting the team in the delivery of a variety planning projects, through the drafting of key documents and submission of planning applications
Taking an active role in supporting senior colleagues with all aspects of technical and strategic advice
Manage and build relationships with new and existing clients
Provide concise, accurate, evidenced, and timely research and written documents (notes, reports, letters, emails, etc.) for project manager review
Review and interpret relevant legislation, Development Plan policy and other material considerations to inform the preparation of planning strategies by senior colleagues
Active roles at project and client meetings
Supporting the preparation of fee proposals and tenders
Assist with management of consultant team
Coach and support junior employees
What we ask
Degree or higher in relevant subject, MRTPI/APC
RTPI accreditation or working towards it
Experience in submitting small-scale applications (e.g. condition discharge)
Experience of the London planning system
Strong analytical, verbal and written skills
An understanding of UK planning law and experience of the planning process, including both development management and local plans
Commercial awareness and exercises sound judgment and integrity
Positive, hard-working attitude
Independent problem solver
Enjoys responsibility and integrating/collaborating with other teams
Demonstrate a professional manner both internally and externally
