Planner - Engineering / Manufacturing

Location: Sunbury-on-Thames, Surrey

Salary: £28,000-£35,000 (dependent on experience)

A leading manufacturer within the aerospace and medical sector is seeking a Planner to join their production team. This role will suit someone with a strong background in manufacturing planning who enjoys improving processes and ensuring materials and resources are in place to meet customer delivery schedules.

As a Planner, you'll coordinate with purchasing, engineering, stores, and dispatch teams to ensure production runs smoothly. You'll also play a key role in forecasting, improving MRP accuracy, and contributing to on-time delivery and inventory control targets.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and prioritise materials and work orders across the shop floor
  • Coordinate with purchasing to ensure availability and quality of materials
  • Maintain and action MRP exception messages and works orders
  • Support production forecasting and align with sales planning activities
  • Develop and enhance planning procedures and scheduling processes
  • Communicate proactively with customer services on delivery updates and changes
  • Support traceability and compliance with aerospace/medical standards

Requirements:

  • Strong planning experience within a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with MRP or ERP systems
  • Confident communicator across departments (Production, Purchasing, Engineering)
  • Understanding of traceability and documentation requirements
  • Process-driven mindset with a continuous improvement attitude
