A qualified therapist/counsellor with at least a year of professional experience will serve as a supervising counsellor. Your main focus will be assessment and formulation of referrals, providing support and oversight to counsellors on placement, and shaping clinical delivery across all year groups to achieve the best outcomes for young people.

In addition, you will deliver therapeutic work, including group and whole class sessions, and will collaborate with a national community of practitioners to share best practice and enhance clinical thinking.

Job Responsibilities

• Assess and formulate referrals for child and young person mental health services
• Supervise and support placement counsellors to ensure consistent and effective intervention delivery
• Deliver therapeutic interventions, including individual and group work, across all year groups
• Collaborate with school staff and external practitioners to shape clinical delivery and share best practice
• Participate in ongoing professional learning and contribute to continuous improvement of services

Qualifications & Requirements

• Qualified therapist or counsellor
• Minimum of one year of professional experience in a therapeutic or counselling role
• Strong assessment, formulation, and referral skills
• Capacity to supervise and mentor other professionals
• Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within an educational setting
