Job Title: Pipe / Metal Fabricator - Stainless Steel & Carbon Steel

Location: Carrick-on-Suir, County Tipperary, Ireland

Salary: €50,000-€100,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.

Job Purpose

To fabricate pipe spools, supports, brackets, frames, and other metal components from approved fabrication drawings, ensuring dimensional accuracy, correct material identification, and compliance with project quality and safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Read and interpret fabrication drawings, pipe spool drawings, material lists, and cutting lists.
• Measure, mark out, cut, bevel, grind, drill, and prepare pipes, plates, and other metal materials.
• Fabricate pipe spools, supports, brackets, frames, and associated metal components.
• Assemble and tack components to the required dimensions and tolerances within authorised duties.
• Operate fabrication machinery, cutting equipment, hand tools, and measuring instruments.
• Identify and segregate stainless steel and carbon steel materials to prevent contamination and material mix-ups.
• Check dimensions and component orientation against approved drawings.
• Coordinate with pipe fitters, coded welders, and QC personnel.
• Maintain material identification and traceability where required.
• Follow workshop housekeeping, equipment maintenance, and safety procedures.

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements

• Relevant fabrication or metalworking qualification, or demonstrable equivalent practical competence.
• Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings and cutting lists.
• Practical competence in marking out, cutting, grinding, beveling, measuring, and assembly.
• Knowledge of fabrication tolerances and material identification.
• Experience handling stainless steel and carbon steel.
• Valid SOLAS Safe Pass where required for the worksite.
• Completion of required site induction and task-specific safety training.
• Appropriate welding qualification if production welding is part of the assigned duties.

Experience

• Experience in pipe spool fabrication, metal fabrication, or industrial workshop operations.
• Experience manufacturing supports, brackets, frames, and piping components.
• Industrial or pharmaceutical fabrication experience is desirable.
