Job Description

Band 3H, £40,345 per annum, plus 15% shift allowance, plus benefits.

Part/Full Time: Full Time - All roles are available for flexible working including job sharing and part-time unless there are legitimate operational / business reasons why this cannot be accommodated.

Role Overview

Thames Valley Police are looking for a self motivated candidate who has a passion for serving victims of domestic abuse and seeking justice for them and the perpetrator. The Domestic Abuse Investigation Unit manage the most serious DA crimes and serious sexual assaults. You will be the Officer in the Case (OIC) and will see cases through to Crown Court trials.

Responsibilities
  • Plan, coordinate and undertake investigations as tasked, utilising all available appropriate techniques and technologies to detect and reduce crime.
  • Support the wider investigative team as and when required by providing resilience, supporting fast time investigations where appropriate.
  • Ensure investigative actions are recorded and maintained via NICHE to ensure accuracy, scrutiny, timely completion and adherence to the Victims Code.
  • Travel across the Force as required to undertake assignments in a timely manner and work flexibly.
  • Carry out investigations on site and at a dedicated office.
Qualifications
  • Qualified PIP1 investigator.
  • Full driving licence; essential for lone working and public transport may be unsuitable.

Vetting

All posts require a level of Police Vetting as per the National Vetting Code of Practice. The residency requirement is necessary to enable all applicants to be checked in an equitable manner. Thames Valley Police will allow applications from those who do not necessarily meet the criteria as long as they have proven UK residency and supporting evidence where necessary. Applications will be considered on a case by case basis.
