Job Description
Job Description: Industry: Utilities
Employment Type: Full-time
About Electric Miles: STRICTLY NO AGENCY OR RECRUITERS - PREFER DIRECT APPLICANTS ONLY Motoring is on the verge of a massive transformation. By 2030, it's estimated that there will be nine million electric vehicles (EVs) on the UK's roads. Charging these EVs will put a significant strain on the National Grid, with peak demand predicted to increase by about a third. Managing EV charging is critical to prevent an electricity crisis. Since June 2022, the UK government mandates that every charger sold must be smart and pre-set to avoid charging at peak times. Charger manufacturers must comply or face hefty fines. Currently, EV drivers are confused by multiple apps that do not fundamentally solve their problems. Electric Miles is uniquely positioned to lead this revolution. We have signed contracts for over 50,000 chargers over the next 3 years, with a mandate for over 20 MWs with local grids to deploy thousands of EVs, shifting charging away from peak periods and avoiding network outages. Our team of 15 has extensive experience in Energy, Software, and Venture Building. We are part of the government's EV task force and have won awards for innovation in the UK. We aim to be the leader in smart charging and grid flexibility management, not only in the UK but globally.
