Berry Lane Medical Centre is looking for a motivated, efficient, and highly organised Band 3 Phlebotomist to join our vibrant team.
As a progressive and friendly 10 GP training practice located in our modern, purpose built premises in Longridge, at the heart of the Ribble Valley, we pride ourselves on delivering exceptional care and fostering a supportive work environment.
We are looking for an experienced phlebotomist to work at the practice 4 days per week. A typical day will run from 8am - 2pm, however we can be flexible with hours.
Job responsibilities- Ensuring that the patient is as comfortable and relaxed as possible and confirming their agreement to the collection of a blood sample
- Collection of sample(s) of blood in accordance with training and procedures
- Ensuring samples are stored in appropriate containers
- Accurate, legible labelling of all samples to confirm patient identity
- Checking patient identification against clinician request and confirming with patient whenever possible
- Recording collection of blood sample in patient record in accordance with Practice procedure using the ICE and EMIS system
- Ensuring that samples are dispatched to the appropriate laboratories in a timely fashion.
- Ensuring that anomalies are reported to a senior member of staff
- Notifying the GP/Nurse of any significant patient issues
- Liaising with and assisting members of the administrative team

- Experience of working in a GP Practice
- Qualified in Phlebotomy
