Phlebotomist

We are looking for an experienced phlebotomist to fill a part-time (17.5 hours per week) permanent position and join our friendly team. We are a dynamic department and would like to hear from suitably qualified people. You will have had recent phlebotomy experience with a minimum of 1 year adult and 6 months paediatric phlebotomy experience and are expected to complete our local competency assessments. The successful candidate will have a flexible approach to duties. An essential requirement of the post is an ability to deal with patients in a confidential, professional, and sensitive manner. To participate in the provision of a high-quality phlebotomy service to paediatric and adult patients in all locations as required, including Mental Health Hospital.
To manage and prioritise workload in various clinical areas. To be involved in the training of other staff where appropriate.
Main duties of the jobThe main duties of the post holder are to collect blood samples from patients in all wards and clinics as required, including isolation, paediatric and outlying units as requested by an authorised officer, by means of venepuncture, skin puncture or other authorised methods, using the method most appropriate to the individual patient's needs and requirements.

Salary: £24,937 to £26,598 per annum, pro rata
