Job Description
The Position:As Philanthropy Manager on the Fundraising & Philanthropy team you will contribute to the winning of donors and sponsors in a significant way and facilitate the successful cultivation of donor, patron and benefactor relationships with the University of Vienna. The core of the role is the emotional dimension of fundraising, philanthropy, communications, event management and finance. You will work collaboratively with several colleagues in different areas of the university.This position is available for the earliest possible start date. It is a fixed-term contract for six months, with the option for permanent employment.Job Duties and Responsibilities:To operate the philanthropy process, balancing the donor's and the University of Vienna's needs and actionsTo make direct requests for financial support from donors, both individually and through appealsTo be a key point of contact for sponsors and donors, as well as cultivating these relationships, ensuring their satisfaction, and retaining their supportTo effectively and efficiently record interactions and developments with prospects and donors, as well as operate the integration of donor, payment and other data in various ERP and expert systemsTo assist with the coordination of visits including scheduling appointments with other university departments, preparing briefings, booking equipment, facilities and refreshments as requiredTo write and manage grant applications/processes in matching the funding priorities and values of the grantmaking organization, as well as following up on all requests and needs of the pre-screening process and expanding the ensuing relationshipsTo be in charge of planning and implementing philanthropic events in close collaboration with the University of Vienna's Conference and Event Management unit, including the oversight of marketing, ticket sales, and the enlisting of volunteersTo support the creation of reports or other formal documentation for university committees and senior staffTo respond promptly to requests for documentation and information from the Rector's Office and other senior university staffTo be a champion of donor stewardshipTo maintain confidentiality regarding supporter information at all times and ensure compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (DSGVO)To work to agreed deadlines and targets, as agreed, and assist with special projects and tasks within the scope of the role, as requiredTo undertake any other duties required which are within the scope and grade of the post, including providing cover and support for other colleagues at busy times and in cases of absenceTo ensure compliance with relevant university policies and proceduresTo undertake any training and development deemed appropriate for the position.
