Job overviewWe have an exciting opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic person to join us as a Pharmacy Senior Assistant Technical Officer-Clinical Services. The role supports the safe and efficient delivery of ward based pharmacy services.
Responsibilities- Assist and support the provision of a safe and efficient ward based pharmacy service in accordance with Trust and local guidelines, policies and procedures.
- Manage medicines at ward level, including ward stock, inpatient named supplies, waste, and recycling.
- Label, dispense, and supply medicines at ward level.
- Proactively manage the pharmacy discharge process, liaising with the multidisciplinary team (MDT) and pharmacy teams.
- Support the MDT with bar code medicines administration (BCMA) workflows at ward level.
- Educated to GCSE grade 4 9 or equivalent including Mathematics, English and Science.
- Willing to undertake and complete mandatory NVQ II units within 6 months of commencing.
- Willing to undertake and complete relevant modules in the CUH Accreditation for Medicines Management within 3 months of commencing.
- NVQ II Pharmaceutical Service.
- IT certificates or qualification.
- Pharmacy experience.
- Planning and organising straightforward tasks.
- Experience of working with computers.
- Working within agreed guidelines to set timescales.
- Experience of customer service in hospitals or dealing with the public.
- Experience of patient consultation.
- Experience with stock management.
- Experience of dispensing.
- Understanding information governance and confidentiality.
- Knowledge of EPIC.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Good communication skills (verbal and written).
- Ability to prioritise work systematically and manage time effectively.
- Good interpersonal skills, diplomacy, tact and awareness of others.
- Good organisational skills.
- Willingness to learn new skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to adapt to change.
- Ability to work effectively in a busy environment where interruptions may occur.
