PFN Pulsed-Power Engineer - Summer Placement

A leading scientific research facility in Harwell is looking for a summer placement student to join the Magnet Power Supplies Group. The student will gain hands-on experience with pulsed power circuits and electrical measurements while supporting the build of a spare Pulse Forming Network (PFN). Responsibilities include optimizing PFN assembly, collecting data for engineering decisions, and working closely with experienced engineers to learn technical documentation and verification processes. Ideal candidates are university students returning to studies post-placement.
