Job Description

Location: Greater Manchester Area (based at Ladybridge Hall, Bolton)

We are looking to appoint a Clinical Practice Trainer to work within the Trust's People Directorate.

The Clinical Practice Trainer is responsible for the delivery of Mandatory Training, but will also be required to support core induction training, practice-based learning and CPD delivery. The role will also involve the support of staff on return to work programs.

Main duties of the job

The vacancy is based at Ladybridge Hall, Bolton, but as Mandatory Training is delivered all across the North West and you will be required to support delivery of training at venues across the whole footprint of the Trust, including North and South Cumbria, as required.

We are looking for a qualified Paramedic, with HCPC registration and evidence of excellent patient care skills. Individuals, ideally, will hold a recognised teaching qualification at diploma level or equivalent or be working towards one. We will be looking for individuals with a proven experience in training delivery in a related field that could be translated into ambulance education practices.

North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust provides 24 hour, 365 days a year accident and emergency services to those in need of emergency medical treatment and transport.

Our highly skilled staff provide life saving care to patients in the community and take people to hospital or a place of care if needed. We also provide non emergency patient transport services for those patients who require non emergency transport to and from hospital and who are unable to travel unaided because of their medical condition or clinical need.

Alongside the other emergency services, we also work to ensure the safety of the public and the treatment of patients in the event of a major incident.

We also deliver the NHS 111 service in the North West. NHS 111 replaced NHS Direct in 2013. This service was introduced to make it easier for people to access local NHS healthcare services in England. It provides non emergency medical help fast, and is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Person Specification
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent planning & organisational skills
  • Proactive and self motivated
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and deal with situations in a sensitive manner
  • Competence in the use of IT software and hardware for the maintenance of records and the development and production of reports
  • Ability to work with a team to deliver effective and efficient training services
  • Willingness to work at a variety of locations, locally, regionally and occasionally nationally
  • Must be highly motivated, flexible, persuasive influential and assertive
  • Flexibility in working hours to support programme needs
Qualification and Knowledge
  • Hold, or work towards a recognised national teaching & assessing qualification, e.g. CET, CAVA, CertEd, NVQ, etc
  • A proven record of training delivery
  • Full driving licence with C1 category
Experience
  • Proven experience in training environment evidenced through practice portfolio
  • Minimum 3 yrs experience in an education and training role
  • Knowledge of national standards related to content delivered
  • Experience of designing training programmes
