Personal Assistant

Hello, my name is Aileen. I am 80 years young and live with my wonderful husband. I have dementia and am looking for a kind and reliable Personal Assistant to support me with personal care. This includes help with washing, dressing, and hair care.

Due to limited mobility, I spend much of my day in bed, but I do use a rollator to move around the house. I already have another Personal Assistant who covers weekdays. I am looking for someone to join the team on a Saturday and Sunday for two hours per day. Hours to be discussed at interview.

A little about me: I used to volunteer with Meals on Wheels and the Threave Osprey Trust. I enjoy watching TV - especially travel programmes and Escape to the Country - as well as reading and birdwatching.

I'm looking for someone who is flexible, dependable, and ideally trained in moving and assisting (training can be arranged for the right person). A driving licence is helpful but not essential, as we live on a bus route. Experience with dementia would be an advantage but is not required.

There may be opportunities for additional hours to cover holidays and sickness.

If you are successful, you will need to provide evidence of your right to work in the UK.

You will be asked to provide the names of two referees.

You will need to be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Group (PVG) scheme. If you are not already a member, I can advise you how to apply.
