Personal Assistant

A 19 year old person in the Beverley area is looking for a Personal Assistant to help with accessing the community, going to appointments and helping with light domestic tasks.

They like baking and accessing the community. They are still young, and they would like to explore things more. They have many physical health problems and the ability to do things day to day depends on this.

They still live at home but go to college and enjoy doing this. They enjoy going shopping but find accessing the community a challenge due to their mobility. They would like someone to support with doing all of the above as well as shopping, attending appointments and to go into town for the day.

With help of the Personal Assistant, they would like to restart baking and keeping their hair short (which they used to do on their own) as well as keeping their room presentable which would include putting clothes away and helping with laundry. They also need somebody who can assist them with cooking and meal prep as well as help with small amounts of cleaning.

The Personal Assistant will have to be able to drive and be able to take them to appointments when needed.

They would need support with personal care, meal prep and cleaning. They like to be involved in this as much as possible.

The Personal Assistant would be needed for 14 hours a week with a rota that would be discussed together the client. They would most likely need the Personal Assistant between the hours of 10 am to early evening but with flexibility around appointments.

The Direct Payments Support Service is an in-house service provided by the East Riding of Yorkshire Council. The service promotes independent choice and inclusion, allowing our service users to employ their own care and support as needed. We support many individuals with varying abilities, assisting with advertising and recruitment for a range of roles including support workers, carers and personal assistants.

Travel

Some travel across East Riding of Yorkshire may be required, applicants must be able to transport themselves.
