Personal Assistant - GKNCL

Hours: 23 hours school holidays, 6 hours term time

Rate of pay: £14.60 per hour

Location: Newcastle upon Tyne (West End)

Gelila is a happy, loving, and kind 9-year-old girl who lives with her mum and three siblings in the West End of Newcastle.

She enjoys being active, and one of her favourite activities is swimming. Gelila is particularly engaged by sensory, hands on experiences such as messy play, especially in sandpits. She also has a strong interest in bus journeys, she is content travelling to the end of the route and back, regardless of the destination. In addition, she is very fond of cats.

Gelila has been diagnosed with ASD and is non verbal; however, she is able to listen and understand. She has limited awareness of danger and may run off, so it is essential that her Personal Assistant (PA) holds her hand when outdoors and always remains vigilant.

We are ideally looking for a PA with experience of working with children who have autism, who is enthusiastic and has a genuine interest in and enjoyment of supporting children.

A full driving licence and access to a car are essential. Mileage expenses will be reimbursed.
