About the RoleCpl Healthcare is currently recruiting for an experienced Person in Charge (PIC) on behalf of a well-established nursing home. This is a key leadership role, responsible for the overall clinical and operational management of the centre, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, person-centred care in line with regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities- Act as the clinical and operational lead for the designated centre
- Oversee the day-to-day management of the service, ensuring safe and effective care delivery
- Lead, support, and develop a multidisciplinary team
- Ensure compliance with all relevant HIQA regulations, standards, and national guidelines
- Maintain a strong understanding of residents' clinical, social, and emotional needs
- Promote a rights-based, person-centred approach to care
- Manage resources effectively, including staffing and occupancy levels
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, staff, and senior management
- Participate in audits, inspections, and continuous quality improvement initiatives
- Registered General Nurse (RGN) with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland
- Minimum 3 years' experience working with older persons within the last 6 years
- At least 3 years' experience in a nurse management role
- Previous senior nursing experience in a regulated care environment
- Evidence of continuous professional development (CPD)
- Relevant post-registration qualification (minimum QQI Level 6 or equivalent)
- Commitment to complete (by March 2028):
- A Level 8 management/leadership qualification, or
- A Level 9 postgraduate nursing qualification with a leadership/management module
- Strong knowledge of dementia care and managing responsive behaviours (BPSD)
- Proven leadership, organisational, and change management skills
