Senior Staff Nurse - Orthopaedic Scrub - RGN

Location: Newcastle Under Lyme

Type: Full Time / Permanent

Are you looking for your next challenge where you can inspire others? Are you a natural born leader committed to delivering the highest standard of care? Dream Medical seeks a Senior Staff Nurse, Orthopaedic Scrub to join a dynamic multidisciplinary team in North Staffordshire.

Your key responsibilities include:

  1. Providing day-to-day supervision, including clinical supervision of junior nursing staff and students.
  2. Managing busy Orthopaedic and spine lists, ensuring high-quality care.
  3. Leading Orthopaedic procedures with expertise in hip and knee replacements and teaching junior staff.
  4. Extensive spinal surgery experience, including instrumented fusion and disc replacements.
  5. Overseeing prosthesis and consumable stock levels in collaboration with the supplies department.
  6. Involvement in recruitment, induction, performance reviews, attendance management, disciplinary, and grievance matters.
  7. Conducting competency assessments, training, staff development, and mentoring.
  8. Ensuring work is carried out efficiently according to protocols and standards.

Qualifications:

  • Registered with the appropriate governing body as a nurse or practitioner.
  • Preferred qualifications include teaching and assessment certifications, professional management qualifications (NVQ level 2 or 3), Immediate Life Support (preferred), and Advanced Life Support (desirable).

Experience & Skills:

  • Experience in multispecialty surgical procedures.
  • Further professional training and preferably a specialist qualification.
  • Excellent clinical skills and mentoring experience.
