Job Description

Bristol Bakery is a highly automated site producing over 700,000 loaves of bread each week, along with a wide range of other bakery favourites including bagels, pittas, and flatbreads. With three manufacturing plants and around 240 staff, it operates in a fast-paced, complex environment where people and technology work hand in hand.

The HR Business Partner role is central to the site's success-supporting manufacturing and working closely with the Site Leader and wider leadership team. You'll be part of a small, dedicated HR team, including an HR Advisor and a Learning & Development Manager, reporting to the Lead People Partner for Manufacturing.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys coaching, influencing, and balancing immediate priorities with long-term strategy. The focus is on developing leadership capabilities, strengthening engagement, and fostering a positive, high-performing culture.

Key Accountabilities and Measures
  • Partner with senior management to implement and execute the Lead for Growth strategy and key people processes.
  • Coach leaders to develop talent, simplify organizations, and enhance engagement.
  • Develop and execute People Plans aligned with business goals, focusing on capability and performance improvements.
  • Provide leadership on People matters, offering expertise and insights to foster continuous improvement and better decision-making.
  • Ensure a positive employee experience that aligns with our employer of choice ethos and values.
  • Drive empowerment and self-service capabilities, collaborating with People Services, Resourcing, and Advisor teams to provide timely support.
  • Represent the voice of the internal customer to ensure central initiatives are fit for purpose and are implemented effectively.
  • Maintain continuous professional development (CPD), sharing knowledge and encouraging team growth.
  • Demonstrate experience as a trusted HR/People business partner within FMCG, Retail, Manufacturing, or Distribution sectors.
  • Lead and coach people as a senior HR/People generalist.
  • Support through change initiatives, demonstrating leadership and adaptability.
  • Collaborate with Trade Unions and colleague forums at a site/depot level.
  • Possess broad and deep HR knowledge, trusted by senior colleagues and leadership.
