Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Advisory (Core Focus) - Provide high-level advisory support to the board on future pensions strategy, including annuity calculation models, product design, and broader pension onboarding strategies.
2. Board Pack & Investment Planning - Develop and deliver a comprehensive board pack by November. This will outline strategic direction, investment rationale, and a roadmap for future strategy implementation and investment planning.
3. Supporting Roadmap Development Team - Support the team that we expect to onboard to deliver their improvements to their pension calculations using Azure and AI
4. Stakeholder and Conflict Management - Work collaboratively with existing contractors supporting the board, while carefully managing any conflict of interest.
5. Long-Term Collaboration Vision - Deliver immediate core advisory work through the end of the year, with potential to stay on as strategic partner if alignment and delivery are successful.

Ideal Candidate Profile

• Expert in UK defined benefit (DB) and defined contribution (DC) pensions, with strong background in annuity design and pensions calculations.
• Board-ready, strategic thinker capable of advising executive leadership and supervising deliverables under tight timelines.
• Comfortable operating as a contractor, setting up deliverables, timelines, and costs with a view toward formal engagement.
• Able to navigate stakeholder dynamics, mitigating conflicts (eg concerning existing contractors).
• Confident, articulate, and structured-able to package and present a compelling board-level investment and strategy narrative.
