PDI Workshop Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Workshop Engineer based at our Marchington depot. The role will be responsible for all aspects of machine preparation, delivery quality and ensuring that machines dispatched are to the correct specification. The role involves preparing machines for dispatch (PDI), fitment of attachment/kits, machine movement recording, setting up machines via computer and ensuring the depot is kept in a clean and presentable manner. In addition, the role may at times be required to provide support to our Generator department at Marchington and open and close the depot.

• Sole responsibility for ensuring PDI work is carried out to the required standard and timeframe on all Construction Plant Equipment
• Complete minor warranty and retail repairs on machines
• Fitting attachments/kits to machines
• Book machine stock in and out
• Update group spreadsheets on the progress of machines
• Support any apprentices with training and development
• Always maintain the depot in a clean and presentable manner.
• Support the Generator Team, at Marchington, as and when required

Key skills we are looking for:

• NVQ level 2 or 3 or equivalent in Plant/Land Base Mechanical Engineering
• OR 3 years of relevant experience within Plant/Land based mechanics
• Forklift truck license
• Investigate & diagnose technical problems
• Interpersonal relationships/ Customer awareness/ Commercial awareness
• Efficient and flexible with the ability to work without supervision
