LOCATION: Bridgewater House, Bristol with at least 4 dpw in the office.
PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: £48,000 - £73,000 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.
START DATE: Early January 2026

PURPOSE OF THE ROLEWe are looking for a number of Producers to oversee the production & delivery of one episode each on an exciting blue chip landmark series for a 3rd party broadcaster.
WHY JOIN THE TEAMYou'll be joining an ambitious production team creating a groundbreaking, place-based landmark natural history series. As a Producer you'll play a key role in shaping and delivering one episode, helping deliver creative excellence that connects with global audiences.
YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT- Be involved in shaping the research and narrative of your film (selecting stories that best deliver the ambition/ key steers/ creative steers and waiving the narrative) with your team and setting up filming, always working closely to the editorial brief of the senior editorial team.
- Oversee the offline editing process, writing edit scripts and actioning feedback from the senior management team and the client.
- Ensure all content is thoroughly researched, factually accurate and meets the BBC's editorial standards.
- Plan strategically to make sure the programme remains on schedule and to budget.
- Oversee the health and safety of your team's shoots, often in highly specialised areas of filming.
- Have knowledge of editorial guidelines and awareness of BBC and statutory policies and regulations relevant to programme making, familiarity with the BBC employment practices and policies such as diversity, equal opportunities, and health and safety guidelines.
- Have a duty of care to the animals that you are filming, to the location where you are working and to the wider environment.
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
- Must have produced a major landmark behaviour-led film to the high standards expected of a blue chip programme.
- Have evidence of strong directorial skills, delivering visually stunning and narratively creative sequences with character-led stories with multiple story beats, turning scientific ideas and discoveries into accessible and interesting stories for the general public.
- Be able to problem solve when faced with challenging circumstances, be organised and have a track record in successful management of budgets.
- Have the ability to work well in diverse teams, managing and sharing of information and knowledge with editorial and production management colleagues in your team as well as helping develop the careers of those in your team.
- Be willing to travel to location to direct shoots but also manage remote & other complex shoots. In both cases be responsible for overseeing the safety.
- The ability to react appropriately to client strategy/direction and to deliver to the changing requirements/brief of the commissioner.
- Resilience and stamina to work under pressure.
DESIRABLE CRITERIA
- Experience with working with 3rd party US clients and an understanding of what appeals to a popular & broad US audience.
- Experience in overseeing a blue chip programme through the final stages of post production and delivering it to the high standards outlined in the editorial brief.
- Experience in instructing visual effects production houses to create premium blue chip material and working with composers to deliver impactful scores that have delivered to the brief.
- Strong writing skills for a wide range of editorial tasks including programme overviews, scripting and story pitches.
- Latin American language skills are not essential but please do state if you have any experience in this area in your application.
- Please state what experience you have had in crafting, capturing and editing high end 'Behind the scenes' content.
