TPF Recruitment are supporting areputable, large independent firm of Chartered Accountants who are seeking anexperienced Payroll Supervisor to join their Southampton team. The firm supports a wide variety ofbusiness owners and company directors throughout all stages of their businesslifecycle, as well as providing personal financial and tax planning advice.
The Payroll Supervisor will play a keyrole in the delivery of payroll services across a diverse client portfolio. Youwill bring strong technical expertise, exceptional organisational skills, andthe ability to oversee multiple payrolls accurately and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Overseethe full processing cycle for weekly and monthly client payrolls, ensuringprecision, compliance, and prompt completion.
- Act asthe main client contact for payroll matters, delivering excellent serviceand addressing queries swiftly.
- Checkand authorise all payroll calculations, statutory payments, pensiondeductions, and any necessary adjustments.
- Manageall HMRC requirements, including RTI filings, tax code changes, andstatutory reporting obligations.
- Assistclients with onboarding, system configuration, and provide clear guidanceon payroll procedures.
- Workclosely with colleagues, HR teams, bookkeepers, accountants, and pensionproviders to support smooth payroll delivery.
- Ensurerecords are maintained to a high standard and comply with GDPR and datasecurity protocols.
- Provideguidance and support to other members of the payroll team as required.
- Demonstrablepayroll background, gained within a practice or bureau environment.
- Solidknowledge of PAYE, NI, statutory entitlements, auto-enrolment, and UKpayroll regulations.
- Experiencewith Staffology or IRIS payroll platforms is advantageous.
- Strongattention to detail with a commitment to accuracy.
- Effectivetime management skills with the ability to oversee multiple clientpayrolls.
- Clearand confident communication skills with a strong client service focus.
- Salary circa £30,000 - £36,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualification status.
