Payroll Supervisor

The payroll Supervisor supports the Payroll Manager in the accurate and timely delivery of payroll services across the organisation. The role provides day-to-day operational support and guidance to payroll team members, ensuring payroll processes are completed accurately, in compliance with legislation and within required deadlines. The Payroll Supervisor also acts as a key point of contact for payroll queries and supports the maintenance of effective payroll controls and processes, operating under the direction of the Payroll Manager who retains overall responsibility for payroll delivery and compliance.
- Minimum 4-5 years' payroll experience, including experience of end-to-end payroll cycle. Previous experience supporting or supervising payroll team members would be advantageous.
- Solid knowledge of UK payroll legislation and compliance requirements.
- Trustworthy and able to keep sensitive information confidential.
- Experience of using Sage 50 Payroll package would be an advantage, strong MS Excel, and reporting skills.
- Run and oversee daily payroll processing tasks completed by team members.
- Provide guidance and support to payroll team members in processing tasks and resolving routine queries.
- Ensure compliance with statutory regulations, taxes, pension, and other deductions are correct and submitted on time.
- Responsibility for monthly and annual reports such as P32, P60 and P45.
- Maintain accurate pension records for employees in line with workplace pension and auto-enrolment requirements.
- Monitor payroll debts from former employees, ensuring records are maintained and cases are passed to recovery agencies where required.
- Liaising with the People & Culture Team department to ensure all starters and leavers are recorded correctly.
- Coordinate with external auditors and ensure proper documentation and payroll processes meet compliance requirement.

Working Hours: 08:30 - 17:00 Monday to Thursday, 08:30 - 16:00 Friday
