We're looking for a detail-oriented and experienced payroll professional to support a critical project focused on rectifying historical pay and pension calculation issues. Working at the heart of a dynamic payroll transformation, you will bridge the gap between the payroll team and the system integrator (SI), ensuring accuracy, compliance, and clarity across all pay processes. This is an exciting opportunity to play a vital role in improving payroll operations and supporting the successful implementation of system fixes in Oracle Cloud.

Key Accountabilities:

• Recalculate historical pay and deduction elements over a 3-year period to identify and correct payroll and pension discrepancies.
• Collaborate with the current system integrator (SI) to investigate, identify, and test system issues, including absence-related errors and other pay process faults.
• Develop comprehensive guidance documentation and deliver training to payroll staff on identifying and testing payroll issues and system fixes.
• Support the Council's project lead in automating the pay uplift process.
• Lead and execute live payroll runs in collaboration with the payroll team, testing fixes and validating outputs.
• Provide clear and accurate reporting of findings and system behaviours back to the SI for resolution.
• Assist in end-to-end testing of all proposed payroll solutions within Oracle Cloud, ensuring resolution of reported issues and obtaining final payroll team sign-off.

Key Criteria:

• Proven experience in payroll, preferably within a complex, multi-year historical correction or systems implementation environment.
• Strong understanding of payroll systems, calculations, and processes, particularly in relation to pensions and absence management.
• Hands-on experience running live payrolls and working with Oracle Cloud Payroll or similar ERP platforms.
• Ability to analyse and explain complex pay issues clearly and concisely, both in writing and verbally.
