Payroll Officer

A well-established business based in Hull is looking to recruit a Payroll professional to join their team on a permanent basis. On offer is a competitive salary of £28,000 - £32,000, along with a range of employee benefits and development opportunities.

As a Payroll professional, you will be responsible for:

• Accurately processing end-to-end payroll for a diverse workforce on a weekly and monthly basis
  
  
• Ensuring compliance with HMRC regulations, pensions auto-enrolment, and statutory deductions
  
  
• Managing starters, leavers, holiday pay, sick pay, and maternity/paternity pay
  
  
• Liaising with managers and employees to resolve payroll queries in a timely and professional manner
  
  
• Keeping up to date with payroll legislation and implementing necessary changes
  
  
• Supporting year-end processes, including P60s and P11Ds
  
  
• Maintaining confidential employee records and producing reports as required
  
  

To thrive in this Payroll role, you will ideally have:

• Previous experience in a similar payroll position, managing end-to-end payroll cycles
  
  
• A solid understanding of current payroll legislation and statutory requirements
  
  
• Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to work
  
  
• Strong IT skills, particularly in Excel and payroll software (e.g., Sage, BrightPay, or similar)
  
  
• A proactive attitude and the ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment
