Amazon is seeking a Risk/Controllership Manager to support the EMEA Payroll Controllership team. We're looking for someone who can take the lead in understanding complex payroll processes and identify the full range of risks related to processes, regulatory compliance, organization, policy, and technology. The candidate will ensure payroll processes stay ahead of risks associated with process design, internal control effectiveness, system integrations, and other relevant areas.

The ideal candidate must be detail-oriented, have superior verbal and written communication skills, strong organizational skills, be able to juggle multiple tasks at once and work independently.

The position requires auditing and problem-solving skills. You should be a self-starter with a strong controllership mindset and enthusiastic to learn within a very dynamic global business environment where our customers come first.

Key job responsibilities
The successful candidate must have a proven record of delivering meaningful risks and recommendations to the business. The candidate should demonstrate strong systems and process knowledge, and a passion for customer service. Core responsibilities include:

• Perform risk assessments and process reviews aiming at proactive risk identification
• Recommend risk-mitigation actions and follow up on their completion
• Evaluate design and effectiveness of payroll controls
• Perform end-to-end audits, including scoping, fieldwork, and reporting
• Provide training to improve controllership standards regarding policies and requirements
• Support external regulatory, SOX compliance and statutory audit requests
• Drive continuous improvement and standardization of processes, including implementation of controllership best practices in the EMEA region
• Provide advisory on controllership-related matters to payroll partners

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field
• 5+ years of controls, audit, compliance, or SOX roles
• 5+ years of finance or a related analytical field
• 3+ years of data analysis, root cause identification, and implementation of mitigation plans
• Strong desire to exceed expectations and strong interpersonal skills, including persuasive written and oral communication skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• MBA or CPA certification
• 5+ years leading continuous improvement projects to scale and improve controllership with measurable results
• Experience working in fast-paced environments with strict deadlines
