Job Description

Job Role: Payroll & Accounts Admin in Dungannon Hours: 37.5 per week (Monday-Thursday 9-5, Friday finish 3pm)

Role Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organised Payroll & Accounts Assistant to support the day-to-day financial operations of a busy construction sector business. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting supplier relationships, and ensuring the smooth running of accounts payable processes. This is a hands on, transactional finance role requiring strong attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process purchase and sales invoices accurately and within required timeframes
  • Match invoices to delivery documentation and resolve any discrepancies
  • Maintain and reconcile the creditors ledger
  • Manage supplier payments and respond to supplier queries
  • Investigate and resolve issues relating to supplier accounts
  • Carry out credit card reconciliations
  • Perform regular bank reconciliations
  • Assist with the preparation and submission of VAT returns
  • Ensure all financial records are maintained in line with company procedures and audit requirements
  • Use Sage accounting software for daily financial processing
  • Provide general support to the finance function as required
Essential Criteria
  • Previous experience in an accounts or finance assistant role
  • Strong working knowledge of Sage accounting software
  • Experience with invoice processing and account reconciliations
  • Good understanding of accounts payable processes
  • High level of accuracy and strong attention to detail
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
Desirable Criteria
  • Experience supporting VAT return preparation
  • Previous experience in a busy or high-volume finance environment
  • Exposure to construction or contracting sector finance processes
