Job Description
Pay and Reward Manager, Hybrid working - London/Manchester or Bristol site- 2 days a week onsite working
Deadline: Tuesday
Interviews: W/C 19th May via Google meet
Rate 250 to 350 per day, inside IR35
Experience of focusing on pay and reward schemes for large scale employees (,000) within multi-disciplined departments (civil service, data and digital, IT)
This is data analysis with a large excel spreadsheet.
The focus will be on implementing the Pay and Reward system and drive the change, not doing the creating.
Government experience helpful but not essential, but focus on large scale pay and reward schemes.
Excel skills essential (as they use Google sheets at the moment, but migrating to Excel).
Reward and pay experience for at least 2 or more organisations
Government experience would but helpful but not essential if the right candidate does not have it
Need to have intermediate excel skills (and other Microsoft applications)
Good standard of written and oral communication skills, a lot of engaging with external orgs and other government departments and this is a more focused on chasing and following up on details and activities, providing information and analysis over 'selling something ' , not necessarily there to change things, more implementation rather than creation
This role is sitting in the head of the government digital and data profession, not central HR.
Stakeholder management skills
Ideally you should not be too focused on developing policy and have some experience on successful implementation
You will have experience of capture and analysis of UK employment practice on bonuses and non-pay benefits to help build a profession led reward approach.
Skills include:
Analytical skills, modelling pay data, drawing inferences, testing models
Excel skills; including pivot tables, some ' whatif'
Influencing stakeholders via oral and written media
Working in a pay and reward role; using market data, helping design pay and benefit practice and addressing challenges relating to pay and reward
An understanding of reward tools and practices and evidence of implementation
External pay benchmarking working with data to inform strategy
Demonstrable evidence of thinking critically, using analysis and challenging assumptions
