Patient Pathway Administrator

An exciting opportunity has arisen to work as part of the Elective Orthopaedic Pathway Administration Team. The post holder will support the provision of high-quality administrative support to Elective Orthopaedic staff.

The position is part-time, 30 hours per week, worked over 4/5 days. The post is based on the City Campus.

Main duties of the job

The PPA is a significant role and a key member of our administrative team supporting clinicians and other administrative staff and ensuring that patient letters are typed in a timely manner.

The main purpose of the role is to deliver high-quality, timely and efficient administrative services to our service to allow our patients to move smoothly along their hospital pathways for best possible and timely care.

Job responsibilities

Person Specification
  • Educated to GCSE standard with passes at grade C or above for English and Maths or similar through vocational training
  • Proven typing or clerical experience and Experience of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Must have an understanding of the Data Protection Act 1998 and be fully conversant with patient confidentiality
  • Excellent telephone manner when speaking with colleagues, professionals and patients. Must be able to clearly and accurately record information. Demonstrates enthusiasm and a conscientious approach to work.
  • Able to use email and audio transcription equipment
  • Ability to multi-task
  • RSA III or evidence of typing experience
  • Experience of working in a health care environment would be desirable, but not essential.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Good command of the English language - both written and spoken.
  • Consistently works to a high standard and deadlines

£25,760 to £27,476 a year per annum pro rata
