We have an exciting opportunity for a Patient Engagement Lead to join our Healthcare Team at HMP Belmarsh, a category A prison located in London. HMP Belmarsh is a maximum security male prison with a capacity for 910 males. This role ensures patients receive the best quality care and supports the team.
HoursMonday - Friday, 0900 - 1700.
SalaryFull-time; annual salary up to £32,000 per annum (FTE), depending on experience.

- Improve and sustain patient engagement activities and satisfaction through effective service user engagement and peer led forums.
- Plan and deliver projects/programmes aligned with patient needs and priorities, involving patients where possible.
- Act as point of contact and respond to patient engagement enquiries from staff, external partners, and patients.
- Oversee and manage the health champion peer support model, including delivery of Health Champion training across the region.
- Ensure statutory and organisational requirements are met; conduct engagement activities frequently across all sites with timely evaluations and provide feedback to patients, staff, and partners.

The Health in Justice team at Practice Plus Group provides NHS services to over 53 prisons, young offenders and immigration removal centres, impacting more than 40,000 patients in secure environments.

Qualifications- English and Maths at GCSE level C/4 or above, or Functional Skills Level 2 in English and Maths (certificate evidence required).
- IT competent (Microsoft Office programmes).
- A commitment to further training/education and continuous professional development.
- Peer representative experience in a criminal justice setting (health, housing, substance use).
- Face to face engagement skills.
- Group facilitation and note taking skills.
