Patient Engagement Lead

We have an exciting opportunity for a Patient Engagement Lead to join the team at HMP Fosse Waya Category C resettlement prison in Leicester.

HMP Fosse Way opened in May 2023. It's state of the art design and facilities offer a secure environment to provide skills and qualifications to the men, enabling them to secure meaningful employment on release with the aim of reducing reoffending rates.

Job Summary

Hours: This position is full time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday Friday 8:00 am - 4:00 pm / 9:00 am - 5:00 pm.

Salary: £28,247 - £32,346 per annum, depending on experience.

Responsibilities

• Encourage prisoners to engage with the healthcare team-attend appointments, receive vaccinations, tests, etc.
• Act as the first point of contact for complaints and elevate issues where necessary.
• Run patient focus groups to gather feedback, identify concerns and develop improvement actions.
• Deliver 1 to 1 discussions with patients regarding complaints and feedback.
• Collaborate with patients across all pathways: primary care, mental health, substance misuse.
• Champion health promotion, liaising with prisoners and the wider healthcare team.
• Listen to patient feedback, address concerns and seek solutions.

Qualified Candidates

• Excellent communication skills, able to connect with patients of diverse age ranges and cultures.
• Experience in a prison or secure setting.
• Strong time management and organisational skills.
• Clinical knowledge-bonus.
