Job Description

Job - Patient Administrator

Location: Wansbeck

Hours: Monday Sunday, 24 hours per week.

InHealth sees more than 5 million patients each year. As a Patient Administrator at our Wansbeck site you will provide high quality administrative and secretarial service, support colleagues, and ensure patients feel informed throughout their healthcare journey.

Responsibilities
  • Welcoming patients in a professional, courteous manner and coordinating their arrival through to departure.
  • Dealing with telephone and direct enquiries promptly and effectively, ensuring information provision and appropriate prioritisation of queries.
  • Booking clinically validated appointments on the internal system.
  • Ensuring all payments are invoiced promptly and accurately and that payments are taken on the day.
  • Tracking and distributing imaging data and reports as required.
  • Utilising relevant IT systems to support a high quality imaging service.
  • Assisting with monthly reports.
  • Complying with ISO standards and protecting confidentiality.
  • Reporting any incidents, feedback or complaints effectively.
  • Maintaining patient and customer focus as central to the commercial success of the business.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Flexibility in working patterns to fulfil site requirements.
  • Proficient understanding of IT packages and administration tasks.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills, both on the phone and face to face.
  • Strong understanding of confidentiality and data protection.
  • Supportive, trustworthy and reliable approach to work.
  • Empathetic and caring approach.
Experience
  • Working in a fast paced administrative role.
  • Experience in a patient or customer facing environment.
  • Knowledge and experience using Microsoft and other IT packages.
  • Quick learning of new systems.
  • Working independently and as part of a wider team.
Additional Information

May be required to cover shifts at Hexham or North Tyneside, requiring access to a car.
