Job Description
Patent Paralegal Bristol, Cambridge, London or Manchester

We are recruiting for a highly experienced Patent Paralegal to join our IP Support Services function. This is a great opportunity to join one of Europe's top specialist Intellectual Property firms. The role can be based in any of our UK offices, Bristol, Cambridge, London or Manchester.

The role

Our Paralegals are at the heart of our client relationships. You will run your own portfolio as a fee earner, shaping the client experience and delivering high-quality, relationship-led support that keeps matters moving smoothly from start to finish.

This role goes beyond process. You will build trusted relationships, attend client meetings and spot opportunities to add value and elevate the client experience. You will set the standard for service across your portfolio, using strong judgement, proactive communication and a genuine commitment to excellence.

You will own your workflows and deadlines across a busy Patent/Design case load, supported by a team of administrators. Reporting to a Service Delivery Manager, you will partner closely with clients and attorneys every day to keep work on track.

You will communicate with confidence and clarity, coordinating smoothly across clients, attorneys and internal teams. As the trusted point of contact, you will anticipate needs, manage expectations, follow client and firm processes, and ensure deadlines are met.

You will be at the forefront of change in the IP Support Team, helping to shape how we work as we grow, and supporting the development of colleagues across the team.

We offer a rewarding, fast-paced and varied career, with the support and investment to help you grow and progress.

What's in it for you?

We have an excellent benefit package which includes:

  • Competitive salary
  • A blended office and home working approach
  • Flexible working hours
  • 30 days leave (exc. Bank Holidays)
  • Interest free season ticket loan
  • Generous pension scheme
  • Enhanced family leave
  • Cycle to work scheme
  • Firmwide discretionary bonus scheme
  • Paid day off for charitable endeavours
  • Discount Voucher Scheme
  • Electric Car Scheme
  • Workplace ISA
  • Healthcare Cash Plan
  • Care concierge
About you

You are an experienced paralegal with proven success in a similar role, ideally within a patent firm. You hold the CIPA IPPC qualification (as a minimum) and understand the value of clear communication, trust and delivery-working with focus and professionalism. You bring a strong service mindset and confidence in building lasting client relationships.

You are self motivated, highly organised and able to plan ahead in a fast moving environment. You adapt quickly, switch between competing priorities and maintain excellent attention to detail. With strong written and verbal communication skills, you tailor your approach to different stakeholders to build trust, respect and productive working relationships. As part of the wider team, you are comfortable making decisions, delegating where appropriate and supporting others to achieve firm wide goals.

We're committed to equal opportunities and welcome a broad diversity of talent to apply.
