Part-Time Teaching Assistant Job available in the New Forest, Southampton

Teaching Assistant Job 1:1 Year R, afternoons only

October 2026 start date

Based in the New Forest, close to Southampton, this school is looking for a Teaching Assistant to join their school from October on a long-term basis. As a Teaching Assistant you will be needed Monday to Friday, initially afternoons only. Once the pupil has settled in to the school, there is a possibility of this increasing to full-days if desired.

As a Teaching Assistant you will be supporting a pupil in Year R joining the school with learning disabilities and Autism. This pupil has an ECHP in place. As a Teaching Assistant you will be providing 1:1 support in class. You will work alongside the pupil, helping them to engage in class and focus in lessons.

This is an on-gong temporary position (temporary to permanent position). The right candidate will ideally have had experience working as a Teaching Assistant previously and will be able to provide two child-based related references.
