Experienced Housekeeper

A warm and professional family of three in Harpenden, Hertfordshire, is looking for an experienced, reliable housekeeper to help maintain the day-to-day running of their home.

This role will work Monday to Thursday, 15:00 to 19:00 (16 hours per week), with a three day option at 12 hours per week. The role is primarily focused on housekeeping, with an emphasis on being around children and supporting a 14 year old daughter.

Responsibilities

• Keep the home tidy and well organised, including daily kitchen reset, bedrooms, and living areas.
• Manage the family's laundry, including washing, ironing, and bed linen.
• Change beds on a regular basis.
• Unpack and put away grocery deliveries and household shopping.
• Plan, prepare, and cook healthy, nutritious family meals in line with an agreed menu and any dietary requirements.
• Ensure the daughter is organised for the following day, including school uniform, school bag, and any other essentials.
• Run occasional household errands, such as visiting the post office or dry cleaners.
• Feed the family dog.

Requirements

• Full driving licence and own car.
• Proactive, trustworthy, kind, and dependable.
• Experience of at least two years in a similar role.
• Enhanced DBS certificate (updated) and a 12 hour Paediatric First Aid Certificate.
• At least two professional referees, including the current or last employer, who can be contacted immediately.

Location: Harpenden, Hertfordshire. Salary: £15,808 gross per annum, with overtime at £19 gross per hour. Job start date: September 2026.
