Part-Time EYFS Teaching Assistant

A warm and welcoming primary school in Gateshead is looking for a caring Part-Time EYFS Teaching Assistant to support pupils in their early years of education.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working with young children and wants to play a key role in helping them settle into school life and develop confidence from the very beginning.

The role is part-time, term time only, with working hours typically between 8.30am and 3.30pm.

The Role

As an EYFS Teaching Assistant, you will support children as they begin their learning journey, helping them feel safe, engaged, and ready to explore.

Your responsibilities may include:

• Supporting children during play-based learning activities
• Helping pupils develop early communication and social skills
• Assisting with phonics, early literacy, and numeracy
• Encouraging curiosity, creativity, and independence
• Working closely with the class teacher and early years team
