Building: Available positions at Donegal Junior High School (DJHS) and Donegal High School (DHS) (Assignment may change)

Start Date: August 25, 2025

Schedule: 10-month support staff

JH: 8:00am-2:00pm

HS: 8:45am-2:45pm

Status: Part-time

Note: Follows the student school schedule

SUMMARY OF PURPOSE

This position is responsible for providing the Life Skills Teacher(s) with instructional and clerical support.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  1. Prepares learning/instructional materials for teacher and student use.
  2. Carries out teachers' directions with respect to instructional support for students.
  3. Monitors and assists an individual student(s) as required.
  4. Performs clerical duties as assigned.
  5. Monitors the physical environment and reports problems to appropriate personnel.
  6. Performs other duties that may be assigned by the teacher(s) or principal.
  7. Maintains an optimum relationship with other staff members by being courteous and always mindful of the importance of confidentiality.
MARGINAL FUNCTIONS

Marginal Functions will vary with the specific assignment and depend on the particular position function for which the person is responsible.

SCOPE AND IMPACT

This position accomplishes most of its tasks through standardized operating procedures. Internal contacts include the teachers, students and the district office employees. The external contacts include parents and the general public.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

This position requires an understanding of the processes and procedures of a school. Must have completed at least two years of post secondary education, or possess an associate degree or higher or meet a rigorous standard of quality as demonstrated through a state or local assessment, as well as prior experience in dealing with students.

SPECIAL SKILLS

Proficiency with computers is preferred. Must possess some clerical skills. Must have excellent interpersonal skills using tact and diplomacy at all times. Confidentiality is essential. Must have the ability to listen, be patient and interact with students and have an understanding of child development.

Physical - Sit: 80%; walk/stand 20%

Lifting: May lift up to 60 lbs.

Vision: Normal

Mental - Ability to evaluate, interpret and analyze; written and verbal communications.
