Job Description
Job Summary

The role of the Paramedic is to work within the Primary Care Networks Horizon, Whitefield and Prestwich. The role will support the ongoing development of services delivered by the PCNs. The focus of this role will be developing independent primary and urgent care clinical practice. The successful appointee will initially conduct same day consultations on home visits, giving exposure to other areas of specific interest within primary care such as women's health, chronic disease management, cancer care, etc. Working hours are during primary care service hours (e.g., 10:00 am-6:00 pm Monday Friday), though some meetings may require attendance outside these times.

Job Functions & Responsibilities

The job holder will also be required to carry out any other duties as may reasonably be required by their line manager. The job requirements may be reviewed on an ongoing basis in accordance with the changing needs of the GP Federation. The post holder will strive to maintain quality within the PCN by alerting other team members to issues of quality and risk, assessing own performance and taking accountability for own actions, working effectively with individuals in other agencies, managing own time, workload and resources, and maintaining effective communication pathways with colleagues, management, patients, carers and other health care professionals.

Patient Confidentiality & Health & Safety

The post holder must respect patient confidentiality and the confidentiality of electronically stored personal data in line with the Data Protection Act. They should not divulge patient information unless sanctioned. They must comply with the Federation's Health and Safety policies, follow agreed safe working procedures and report incidents using the organisation's incident reporting processes, including compliance with the Access to Health Records Act.
