An opportunity has arisen at our Leicester office for a Paralegal to join our Contentious Trusts and Probate and Professional Liability team.
Role OverviewWe are seeking a confident, motivated and detail-oriented Paralegal to work alongside a Partner undertaking both Contentious Trusts and Probate work as well as Professional Negligence work. Both are Legal 500 teams and the Partner whom the candidate will support is a highly regarded, recognised specialist with many years of experience.
ResponsibilitiesYou will play a key supporting role to the Partner and team on a range of Contentious Trusts and Probate and Professional Liability matters. Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing new client enquiries and assisting with client onboarding
- Drafting legal documents, including when appropriate letters of claim, instructions to counsel, and witness statements
- Preparing court and mediation bundles
- Opening and managing legal files, ensuring compliance with regulatory obligations
- Advising on funding options and legal costs where appropriate
- Conducting legal research on case law, procedure, and evidentiary matters
- A degree in Law or a relevant field
- Previous experience as a Paralegal or Legal Assistant
- Experience within Contentious Trusts and Probate and/or Professional Negligence and/or general Civil Litigation would be advantageous
- Strong research and analytical skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
