About the Role

We are recruiting an Painter (Multi skilled)to join our Onward Repairs team with a specific responsibility to work with our Damp and Mould team focusing on the improvement to properties across the North West of England.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing business to deliver property maintenance services, undertaking repair activities predominantly within customer's homes, but also voids.

Start and finish your day from home with no need to attend our office daily - just for team meetings.

Key Responsibilities Delivery
  • Following training generally assess and diagnose damp and mould problems and any HHSRS risks.
  • Carrying out three stage Damp and Mould treatment, and ensuring homes are within regulations to relet.
  • Completing legal disrepair work, ensuring the homes are decorated in line with housing standards.
  • Undertaking full painting and decorating duties.
  • Identifying and rectifying defects in paintwork.
  • Preparing all walls/ ceilings "internal" to receive paint or paper.
  • Painting internal walls/ ceilings with emulsion paints following the correct preparation.
Customer Services
  • To provide excellent customer service whilst ensuring prompt work of the required standard.
Liaison and technical advice
  • Liaise with clients, customers and colleagues regarding access, safe working practices, and assessment of repairs requirements and progress of repairs.
Health and Safety
  • Undertake work activities in line with all health and safety requirements demonstrating a sound working knowledge of key legislative health and safety information and safe working practices.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience Essential
  • Sound knowledge of building construction, components, building trades and applicable building regulations.
  • Experience of working in a customer focussed service.
  • Proven ability to deliver a quality customer centred repairs service.
  • Experience of working in a target driven environment.
  • Sound knowledge of health and safety regulations, regulation and ACOPS relevant to the post and associated tasks undertaken within it, in line with HASAWA 1974.
Desirable
  • Experience of working within a commercial and domestic property maintenance environment.
  • Experience of delivering services within the social housing sector.
  • Experience of using PDA technology (handheld/mobile working technology).
Qualifications Essential

City and Guilds Craft Certificate in painting or equivalent.

Desirable
  • Hold relevant health & safety qualifications which relate to the sector/construction industry in general.
  • Asbestos awareness training.
  • Relevant power tool training.
  • Manual handling training.
  • Appropriate and current training in COSHH & PPE.
  • Access equipment and working at height training e.g. mobile work platforms.
  • Appropriate HHSRS qualification or willingness to work towards completing it.
  • Appropriate Damp and Mould Training or willingness to work towards completing it.
